There are various materials and things that can cause an impact on ICT, but the one that is most prominent to me at the moment is social networking. Social networking has changed the way that we now communicate, and share different segments of information. It has led to long range messaging using the Internet, which had not been used as much before the insertion of it. It has given people a different way and method of expressing themselves in everyday life. However, it has become more of a disadvantage to social interaction interpersonally. But also, it has given way to E-Commerce, and advertising. It has given companies a new avenue to advertise, gaining new customers, having them buying their products, thus meaning that the economy, thanks to social networking has the opportunity to get better thanks to the new means of advertising.
Some people nowadays only use their phones to communicate with other persons in their lives, which has made social interaction go down over the last few years, as some people are now glued to their phones in order to communicate. It has induced an element of social awkwardness, as people can now not communicate properly, interpersonally. The way friendships have now formed is different now than it was 20 years ago.
